King’s Koncepts: Whose Report Will You Believe?

Hello Everyone!

Today I’d like to share a thought and a testimony. It’s centered around the difference between perception, reality and faith. For many of you, like myself, these three words play an important part in the how we live our lives as well as our willingness to trust God to lead and guide us through this life. I’m pretty confident that there have been times in your lives when your self-confidence was virtually non-existent: your mind twisted and pulled in dozens of directions at the same time: your desire to persevere and endure as a good soldier at its weakest point. Believe me, I’ve been there and done that more times than I care to admit.

In spite of all that there’s always been one constant in my life, a never-ending, never-failing source of strength that I can rely on anytime, anywhere, and for any situation. It is the Word of God. You see perception is how we see things, reality is how things are, but faith is what God says about the whole matter from start to finish. If we are to succeed in life as people of God we’ve got to learn to dispense with the first two and simply rely on the last. So many times the report my mind gave me was one of fear and trepidation. At other times the facts of life caused me to retreat when my victory, my deliverance lie just ahead. But just when I wanted to give up completely, throw in the towel, and walk away from all that God has promised me, He’d send a word that would bring renewed focus to my mind, give courage to look beyond what I see and stand on what He said.

It’s similar to what happened to the children of Israel in Numbers, chapter 13 when Joshua, Caleb, and the other spies were sent to search the land of Canaan. When they talked about how the land flowed with milk and honey and how plentiful and productive the land was. Most of them also spoke of how strong the people in and around Canaan were. How they were like giants and how the spies saw themselves as grasshoppers compared to them. They talked about how the city was walled and great. Finally they said that they should not go up against them to conquer them because they were stronger than the children of Israel. This report greatly discouraged Israel and they cried with a loud voice, thinking that God had led them out of Egypt into a wilderness for them to die. They even spoke of returning to Egypt to live again as slaves.

Thank God somebody refused to believe the spies report of what they perceived to be a foe that they could not defeat.  Thank God somebody refused to believe reality’s report of what they would be facing if they went into battle against Canaan. Thank God somebody refused to believe any other report other than the report of the Lord. Thank God Faith’s report said, …”Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”

Believe the report of the Lord. Build up your faith through the Word of God.

STAY BLESSED!
